帝亚吉欧卡梅隆桥蒸馏厂工人投票支持罢工 逾百名成员或参与工业行动
帝亚吉欧位于苏格兰法夫郡卡梅隆桥的谷物威士忌蒸馏厂工人投票支持工业行动。9月9日投票中,GMB苏格兰分会75%成员投赞成票、投票率73%;Unite分会逾100名成员投票支持罢工,此前该厂逾70个岗位面临审查。工会指责帝亚吉欧未就裁员计划进行充分协商。此举正值帝亚吉欧启动10亿美元重组计划,其年报显示公司已裁减员工2000人。
Members of both Unite and GMB Scotland have voted in favour of industrial action at Diageo’s Cameronbridge distillery in Levenmouth, Fife.
Cameronbridge provides grain whisky for Diageo’s portfolio of blended whiskies, including Johnnie Walker In a vote on Wednesday (9 September), 75% of GMB Scotland members voted for industrial action with a turnout of 73%.
Unite also polled its members after discovering that more than 70 roles were under review.
More than 100 of its members are now set to strike after ‘emphatically’ backing the vote.
It said it believes Diageo has failed to properly consult on the job cuts and provided ‘no explanation and minimal detail’ on the proposed redundancies.
Diageo has launched a US$1 billion restructuring plan to turn the business’ fortunes around.
In its recent annual report, the company revealed it had already reduced its staff numbers by 2,000 .
