A strong apéritifs performance drove 2.7% organic sales growth for Campari Group in the first half (H1) of 2026, as the Italian firm announces plans to sell its agricole rums.

In the six months ending 30 June 2026, Campari Group totalled net sales of €1.51 billion (US$1.73bn), which marked a 2.7% organic rise compared to the same period last year. In H1 2025, the group posted a slight 0.1% organic growth in sales. Its adjusted earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) for H1 was €358 million (US$410m). The Milan-headquartered company also recorded 2.5% organic sales growth in the second quarter (Q2) of 2026, which reached €869m (US$996.2m) in sales. In Q1, Campari Group kicked off the year with 2.9% organic sales growth. Following the results, Campari Group raised its guidance for FY 2026, confirming that it expects to outperform the industry with 3% organic topline growth. The group cited a softer impact from US tariffs than expected, efficiency gains, and the success of its apéritif portfolio. Simon Hunt, CEO of Campari Group, said: "We are delivering on our strategy and growing with solid results in the first half of 2026 in terms of organic topline, profitability and solid balance sheet. At the same time, we are growing and gaining share across all our key markets driven by our priority brands. “Our strategy of fewer bigger bets, including disposal of non-priority brands, innovation, and geographic expansion is gaining traction while we continue to drive efficiency across each line of the P&L [profit and loss]. Looking ahead, we are updating our 2026 guidance with incremental uplift to adjusted earnings before interest and taxes margin and re-confirming our topline organic growth of circa 3%.” Brand performance The company’s House of Aperitifs division accounted for 49% of total sales for the half-year, up by 4% organically and by 5% for Q2. Its flagship apéritifs, Aperol and Campari, registered growth of 3.3% and 2.3%, respectively. Other brands under this umbrella grew by 8.8%, which the group said was primarily driven by the Sarti Rosa brand and its gains in the German market. House of Agave (which represented 10% of total sales) grew by 6.9% in H1, with strong performance from Espolòn Tequila – up by 8.2% – although other brands in the division declined by 5.5% House of Cognac and Champagne (accounting for 8% of total sales) grew by 4.6% in H1 as Courvoisier (up 6%) was highlighted for its growth in emerging markets and Asia Pacific (APAC), as well as stable performance in the US 'despite ongoing category pressure’. Campari Group purchased Courvoisier from Suntory Global Spirits in 2024 for US$1.17bn, and has since sought to grow the brand’s presence in the US. House of Whiskey and Rum, which makes up 12% of group sales, was down by 6% in the first half of the year. Wild Turkey was said to be hit by category challenges in the US and 'demand-led supply constraints' on Russell’s Reserve. Its Jamaica rum portfolio, however, which includes Appleton Estate, had a slight uptick of 0.2%. Local brands, which account for 20% of sales,  grew by 2.9% in H1. Skyy Vodka is part of this section and grew by 5.7%, which was driven by its Skyy Cosmic offering in Argentina. The global view The strong performance from Aperol, Campari and Sarti Rosa was reflected in the regional view of the group’s H1 performance. European sales grew by 1.9%, with key markets in Italy, France and the UK all in growth, for which Campari Group credits ready-to-drink (RTD) and ready-to-serve (RTS) proliferation and a focus on convenience. In April, Campari Group introduced a canned Aperol Spritz To Go, which is available in the UK and European markets Europe makes up nearly half of the group's sales with a 46% share. North America (36% of the group's sales) was also up – by 2.6% – driven by strong performance by Aperol, Sarti Rosa and Espolòn. Jamaica also posted an increase of 8.8%. Developing markets, including Brazil and Argentina, were up by 9.1% for H1. APAC and global travel retail (GTR) remained flat despite positive results in Australia (up 2.6%) where growth was driven by double-digit increases for Aperol and Espolòn in the market. Campari to sell agricole rums and Tequila Last year, Campari sold the Averna and Zedda Piras brands to Disaronno owner Illva Saronno for €100m (US$114.5m) as part of a drive to focus on its core portfolio. This refocusing continued with the recent announcement that Dublin-based Cobblestone Brands is to purchase Bisquit & Dubouché Cognac and Cabo Wabo Tequila. The deal is expected to be completed by the end of October. Campari fully acquired Cabo Wabo, founded by musician Sammy Hagar, in 2010. A further sale of Bellonnie et Bourdillon Successeurs – which covers Campari’s rhum agricole portfolio in Martinique and related industries – is planned to ‘a French private industry player’. The planned divestment comes seven years after Campari acquired the Trois Rivières and Maison La Mauny agricole rum brands for €60m (US$66m) in September 2019. These two transactions are expected to be completed before the end of 2026 at an estimated combined value of €30m (US$34.5m). After the first quarter, Hunt confirmed that Campari Group would continue to grow Aperol’s footprint in the US. Aperol was named the world's number one best-selling speciality spirit in The Brand Champions 2026 report.
