In the first quarter of the year (Q1), Rémy Cointreau’s sales totalled €223.2 million (US$255.6m), representing an organic growth of 1.3%.

The result followed a stagnant 2025-26 financial year, when sales grew by 0.2%. Earlier this year, the firm revealed it was implementing a transformation plan to reverse its fortunes. It subsequently stated its intentions to ‘increase its resilience’ in an annual report. Cognac From April to June 2026, the firm’s Cognac division grew by 7.7% on an organic basis, totalling €141.9m (US$162.5m). Rémy Cointreau said this growth was primarily driven by Asia Pacific (APAC), particularly in the ‘rest of Asia’ region, which was up by double digits. China recorded a ‘limited’ decline in a challenging market environment. It added that the group achieved more than 12% growth during China’s 618 e-commerce festival, which ran from 13 May to 18 June. Cognac sales in the Americas suffered, with the firm citing destocking in Canada and a high comparison base in Latin America. It added that the US experienced solid sales growth (in the low- to mid-single-digit range) and an improvement in depletions. Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) also delivered growth in the low- to mid-single-digit range, led by South Africa and the UK. The full portfolio Rémy Cointreau’s liqueurs and spirits division, however, declined by 6.6%. The firm attributed its poor performance in the Americas, and particularly in the US, to an ‘unfavourable’ phasing effect following a strong rebound in shipments in the previous quarter. It added that the division’s key brands – Cointreau, The Botanist, Bruichladdich and Mount Gay – delivered positive depletion growth. In EMEA, performance was ‘mixed’ due to intense promotional activity and moderate consumer demand. Sales in APAC declined, mainly in China, while the ‘rest of Asia’ region benefitted from strong momentum for Bruichladdich. Partner brands also plunged by 47.9% in organic sales. Rémy Cointreau said this was due to the discontinuation of distribution of partner brands in Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg from April. For the full year, the firm anticipates a return to sustainable organic sales growth, with momentum expected to strengthen progressively during the year. It also forecasts a ‘slight’ organic improvement in current operating margin, despite a predicted increase in customs duties.
